COLUMBUS (December 6, 2006) - Governor Bob Taft today announced appointments to the State Board of Education.

The State Board of Education shall exercise under the acts of the general assembly, general supervision of the system of public education in the state. Members are compensated from Pay Range 46 ($26.43 - $51.46 per hour).

Stephen Millett, from Columbus, was reappointed to the State Board of Education for a term ending December 31, 2010. Dr. Millett has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University and a Master of Arts and a Doctorate degree in History from The Ohio State University. Dr. Millett is a Thought Leader for Energy Products with Battelle.

Carl Wick, from Centerville, was reappointed to the State Board of Education for a term ending December 31, 2010. Mr. Wick has a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from The Ohio State University. Mr. Wick is the former Director of Engineering Human Resources with NCR.

Jennifer Sheets, from Pomeroy, was reappointed to the State Board of Education for a term ending December 31, 2010. Ms. Sheets has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in Home Economics from The Ohio State University and a Juris Doctor degree from Capital Law School. Ms. Sheets is an Attorney and Partner with Little, Sheets & Warner Law Offices.
