TAFT ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF VERNON L. PRESTON
TO THE THIRD DISTRICT COURT OF APPEALS
COLUMBUS (December 20, 2006) - Governor Bob Taft today announced the appointment of Vernon L. Preston to the Third District Court of Appeals.
Vernon L. Preston, from Findlay, was appointed to the Third District Court of Appeals for a term beginning January 2, 2007. Preston is filling the unexpired term ending February 8, 2009 of Robert Cupp, who was elected to the Ohio Supreme Court.
Judge Preston is currently a Judge on the Findlay Municipal Court, a Captain in the United States Navy Reserve Retired and part-time Faculty at the University of Findlay. He was previously a Partner with Betts, Miller & Russo.
Judge Preston has a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education and Biology from the University of Findlay and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toledo College of Law.
