
GOVERNOR SIGNS BILLS
COLUMBUS (December 27, 2006) - Governor Bob Taft today signed into law Substitute House Bill 9, sponsored by state Representative W. Scott Oelslager (R-Canton), which makes changes to the public records law.
"I am pleased to sign House Bill 9, which will make state and local government officials more accountable, and I appreciate the work of the Ohio General Assembly for passing this important piece of legislation," Taft said.
Also today, Taft signed Substitute Senate Bill 393, sponsored by state Senator Larry A. Mumper (R-Marion), which modifies the requirements governing the issuance of individual and general national pollutant discharge elimination system (NPDES) permits by the Director of Agriculture.
Both bills go into effect 90 days after they are signed by the Governor and filed with the Secretary of State.
