GOVERNOR ANNOUNCES STATE FUNDING FOR CARDINAL HEALTH
Company Expansion Represents $14 Million Investment, 150 New Jobs

COLUMBUS (December 3, 2001) — Governor Bob Taft today announced state assistance for Cardinal Health, located in Dublin (Franklin County).

The Ohio Tax Credit Authority has approved a 70 percent tax credit for a 10-year term to allow Cardinal Health to expand operations and acquire additional machinery and equipment. The expansion represents a $14 million investment and is expected to create 150 jobs within the first three years of operation.

“I am encouraged by Cardinal Health’s continued growth and commitment to do business in Ohio,” Taft said. “I am proud the State of Ohio is able to assist with this project, which will create 150 lucrative jobs in Central Ohio.”

Cardinal Health is a Fortune 100 corporation that provides products and services supporting the health-care industry. Through both internal growth and a series of acquisitions over the past 10 years, Cardinal Health has built a network of more than 100 distribution facilities capable of providing next-day pharmaceutical services throughout the United States.

Cardinal Health plans to consolidate positions from its recently acquired Bindley Western facility (Indianapolis, Indiana) into the Dublin location. Ohio was in competition with Indiana, Illinois and Texas for this project.
