
GOVERNOR TAFT ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENTS
COLUMBUS (December 20, 2002) - Governor Bob Taft today announced appointments
to the Children's Trust Fund Board, Ohio Expositions Commission, Lakeland Community
College Board of Trustees, and Commission on Minority Health.
The Children's Trust Fund Board may apply for and accept federal funds, as well
as gifts and donations from individuals or philanthropic foundations or organizations.
Members are compensated for expenses only.
Mark Harris, from Waterville, was appointed to the Children's Trust Fund Board for a term ending July 2, 2003, replacing Therese Zumda, who resigned. Mr. Harris is director of marketing and development for Goodwill Industries of Northwest Ohio. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Toledo.
The Ohio Expositions Commission manages the Ohio State Fair and may conduct other fairs or expositions as decided. Members are compensated $18.98 per hour, plus expenses.
David P. Corey, from Columbus, was reappointed to the Ohio Expositions Commission for a term ending December 1, 2008. Mr. Corey is president of Paul A. Corey Associates, Inc. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Michigan and his M.B.A. degree from The Ohio State University.
Opal Holfinger, from Troy, was reappointed to the Ohio Expositions Commission for a term ending December 1, 2008. Ms. Holfinger operates a 350-acre beef and grain farm in Miami County. She is a retired member of the Ohio Farm Bureau Board of Trustees.
Joseph C. Robertson, from Johnstown, was appointed to the Ohio Expositions Commission for a term ending December 1, 2008, replacing Madeline Lancione, of Columbus, whose term expired. Mr. Robertson is a consultant for KMK Consulting Company. He received his B.S. degree from Ashland University.
The Lakeland Community College Board of Trustees shall appoint the administrative officers, faculty and staff necessary to operate the college, and shall do necessary to properly operate and maintain the college. Members are compensated for expenses only.
Theresa Gerred-Ditchcreek, from Willoughby Hills, was reappointed to the Lakeland
Community College Board of Trustees for a term ending October 12, 2007. Ms.
Ditchcreek is
human resources manager for Ericson Manufacturing. She received her Associates
degree from Lakeland Community College.
Faith Jackson, from Mentor, was reappointed to the Lakeland Community College Board of Trustees for a term ending October 12, 2007. Dr. Jackson is an associate professor emeritus at Bowling Green State University. She received her B.S. degree, her M.A. degree and her Ph.D. degree from Bowling Green State University.
A. James Totin, from Wickliffe, was reappointed to the Lakeland Community College Board of Trustees for a term ending October 12, 2007. Mr. Totin is vice president/senior lender for National City Bank. He received his B.S. degree from Bowling Green State University.
The Commission on Minority Health shall promote health and the prevention of disease among members of minority groups. Members are compensated for expenses only.
Olivia Thomas, from Columbus, was reappointed to the Commission on Minority Health for a term ending September 2, 2004. Dr. Thomas is chief of the ambulatory section at Children's Hospital. She received her B.S. degree from Kentucky State University, and her M.D. degree from Creighton University Medical School.
Gina Austin Lewis, from Dayton, was reappointed to the Commission on Minority Health for a term ending September 2, 2004. Ms. Showell will be opening an executive search firm, for health care executives and physicians, called Austin Lewis. She received her B.A. degree from Capital University, and her M.S. degree from Central Michigan University.
Mary Gregory, from Toledo, was appointed to the Commission on Minority Health for a term ending September 2, 2004, replacing Samuel Strong, of Toledo, who passed away. Ms. Gregory is a retired manager of health promotion from St. Vincent Medical Center and St. Vincent School of Nursing. She received her B.Ed. degree and M.Ed. degree from the University of Toledo and her RN degree from St. Vincent Medical Center School of Nursing.
Gregory L. Hall, from Richmond Heights, was appointed to the Commission on Minority Health for a term ending September 2, 2003, replacing Antony M. George, of Broadview Heights, who resigned. Mr. Hall is and physician and president of Gregory L. Hall, M.D., Inc. He received his B.A. degree from Williams College and his M.D. degree from Medical College of Ohio.
