READEY NAMED SCHOOL FACILITIES EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Interim Position Made Permanent

COLUMBUS (December 30, 2002) - Tom Johnson, chairman of the Ohio School Facilities Commission, today announced the selection of Lynn Readey as executive director of the Ohio School Facilities Commission. The members of the commission will vote to approve the appointment at their next meeting on January 15, 2003. Readey has been interim director since August.

"Lynn has done an excellent job as interim director and I am delighted with the Commission's decision to make her position permanent," Governor Taft said. "I have made the repairing and rebuilding of schools one of my highest priorities and I am confident in Lynn's ability to direct the $2.5 million a day program."

As executive director, Readey will oversee the Ohio School Facilities Commission (OSFC), which provides funding, management oversight, and technical assistance to Ohio school districts for the construction and renovation of school facilities.

Readey joined OSFC from the Ohio Attorney General's Office. Since 1998 she has served as Assistant Attorney General and head of the education section and was head of the Court of Claims section from 1995 to 1998.

Prior to joining the Ohio Attorney General's Office, Readey was an attorney at the Dayton-based law firm Sebaly, Shillito and Dyer from 1991 to 1995, and was made partner in 1994. She worked as an attorney at Dayton-based law firm Smith & Schnacke and Faruki, Gilliam & Ireland from 1987 to 1991.

Readey earned her law degree in 1987 from the University of Dayton's School of Law, received a Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Vermont in 1984 and a Bachelors degree in Political Science from Southeast Missouri State University in 1975.
