
TAFT ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT TO THE OHIO TUITION TRUST AUTHORITY
COLUMBUS (November 14, 2003) - Governor Bob Taft today announced an appointment to the Ohio Tuition Trust Authority.
The Ohio Tuition Trust Authority administers the Ohio Tuition Trust Program, which issues college savings bonds and sells tuition credits and supplemental tuition credits. The Authority governs the Ohio Tuition Trust and serves as trustee of the moneys placed into tuition credits and investments earnings of the Ohio Tuition Trust Fund. Members are compensated for expenses only.
Virginia Shimrock, from Columbus, was appointed to the Ohio Tuition Trust Authority for a term beginning November 13, 2003, and ending January 31, 2007, replacing George A. Turk, who resigned. Ms. Shimrock is the executive director of the Ohio Public Employees Deferred Compensation Program. Ms. Shimrock previously worked as an accountant/office manager for Thomas M. Jordan, CPA, Inc., and as a staff accountant at Kenneth E. Russell, CPA. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Ohio University and is a certified financial planner and certified public accountant.
