
TAFT ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENTS
COLUMBUS (November 21, 2003) - Governor Bob Taft today announced appointments to the Financial Planning and Supervision Commission for Bristol Local School District; Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board; Oil and Gas Commission; State Board of Psychology; Transportation Review Advisory Council; and the Warren County Community College Board of Trustees.
The Financial Planning and Supervision Commission for Bristol Local School District is created to bring the Bristol Local School district out of fiscal emergency. Members are not compensated.
Nancy Mahan, from Bristolville, was appointed by Governor Taft to serve on the Financial Planning and Supervision Commission for Bristol Local School District. Ms. Mahan is vice president of Mahan Packing in Bristolville, Ohio.
The Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board investigates complaints concerning the violation of these sections, sets the licensing requirements for occupational and physical therapists in Ohio and the waiver of these requirements. Members are compensated $18.98 per hour, plus expenses.
Sally C. Oberbeck, from Fairborn, was reappointed to the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board for a term ending August 27, 2006. Ms. Oberbeck is a clinical coordinator of occupational therapy-psychiatry at Miami Valley Hospital.
Martha S. Cameron, from Columbus, was reappointed to the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board for a term ending August 27, 2006. Ms. Cameron is an occupational therapist, In-home Caregiver Support Program, for the Alzheimer's Association of Central Ohio.
Donna F. Baker, from Hamilton, was reappointed to Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board for a term ending August 27, 2006. Ms. Baker is administrative director of physical medicine and rehabilitation for the Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati, Inc.
Vince O'Brien, from Columbus, was appointed to the Ohio Occupational Therapy,
Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board for a term ending August 27, 2006,
replacing Mark Doughty, of Newark, whose term expired. Mr. O'Brien is an athletic
trainer for The Ohio State University.
Robert Frampton, from Findlay, was appointed to the Ohio Occupational Therapy,
Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board for a term ending August 27, 2006,
replacing Anna Lou Goldblatt, of Toledo, whose term expired. Dr. Frampton is
the Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy Program Director at the University
of Findlay.
The Oil and Gas Commission shall review claims by persons who feel they have been adversely affected by an order of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources' Division of Oil and Gas. Members are compensated $18.98 per hour, plus expenses.
John A. Gray, of Shreve, was reappointed to the Oil and Gas Commission for a term ending October 14, 2008. Mr. Gray is operations supervisor for Gatherco Inc.
The State Board of Psychology shall license all persons who desire to engage in the practice of psychology in Ohio. Members are compensated $18.98 per hour, plus expenses.
Kevin D. Arnold, from Galena, was reappointed to the State Board of Psychology for a term ending October 5, 2008. Dr. Arnold works for the Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy of Greater Columbus, Inc.
Kathryn R. Shroder, from Warren, was appointed to the State Board of Psychology for a term ending October 5, 2008, replacing Cathy Telzrow, of Hudson, whose term expired. Dr. Shroder is a psychologist at Trumbull Psychological Associates.
The Transportation Review Advisory Council shall develop and approve a list of projects that will not cause spending to significantly exceed the future predicted to be available by the fiscal forecast. Members are compensated $7,500 per year, plus expenses.
Bill W. Dingus, from South Point, was appointed to the Transportation Review Advisory Council for a term ending June 30, 2006, replacing G. Kenner Bush, of Athens, who resigned. Mr. Dingus is executive director of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.
The Warren County Community College Board of Trustees shall appoint the administrative officers, faculty and staff necessary to operate the college, and shall do all things necessary to properly operate and maintain the college. Warren Community College is newly created, serving as a pilot program. The board of trustees will consist of 9 members, 3 appointed by the Governor. Members are compensated for expenses only. Governor Taft appointed the following individuals to the Warren County Community College Board of Trustees:
George Terwilleger, from Maineville, was appointed to the Warren County Community College Board of Trustees for a term ending July 31, 2005. Mr. Terwilleger is owner/operator of Terwilleger & Associates, LLC Real Estate Co., and a former member of the Ohio House of Representatives.
Stephen P. Foley, Sr., from Waynesville, was appointed to the Warren County Community College Board of Trustees for a term ending July 31, 2005. Mr. Foley is president, CEO and Treasurer of Waytek Corporation, a paper and film converting company.
Cindy Garland, from Springboro, was appointed to the Warren County Community College Board of Trustees for a term ending July 31, 2005. Ms. Garland is a substitute teacher for Springboro Schools. She served on the Springboro Community City Schools Board of Education and the Warren County Career Center Board of Education.
