TAFT ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF MARK J. HASSETT AS CHARDON MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE

COLUMBUS (November 21, 2003) - Governor Bob Taft today announced an appointment to the Chardon Municipal Court.

Mark J. Hassett, from Chagrin Falls, was appointed Judge to the Chardon Municipal Court, for a term beginning December 1, 2003. Hassett is replacing Judge Craig Albert, who retired.

Hassett is currently the owner of Mark J. Hassett Co., LPA and part-time Magistrate for the Chardon Municipal Court. Previously he was an Associate at the Law Firm of Thrasher, Dinsmore and Dolan.

Hassett is a member of the Geauga County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board, a member of American Legion Post 167, former Chairman of the Geauga County Planning Commission and former member of the Lake-Geauga Program for Alcoholism Board.

Hassett received his B.A. from Yale and his Juris Doctor degree from Case Western University.
