
TAFT ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT TO LEGISLATIVE STAFF
COLUMBUS (December 17, 2003) - Governor Bob Taft today announced an appointment to his Department of Legislative Affairs.
Karen C. Minton is the new legislative liaison to Governor Taft. As a member of Governor Taft's Department of Legislative Affairs, she will work closely with Director of Legislative Affairs Elise Spriggs and will oversee legislative issues involving the Departments of Development, Transportation, Taxation, and the Industrial Commission, Public Utilities Commission, and Bureau of Workers' Compensation. Minton began her duties on December 15.
Since December 2000, Minton has served Ohio House of Representatives Speaker Larry Householder as a member of the Caucus Policy Staff, serving as a resource to the Speaker on issues involving the House Insurance; Banking, Pensions & Securities; and Economic Development & Technology Committees.
Minton, 27, holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Sociology from Ohio University, and resides in Hilliard with her husband Andrew. She is a native of Mentor, Ohio.
