Voting

Voting is a fundamental part of democracy. Federal and state laws exist that protect this right for people with disabilities, such as the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA). HAVA grants money to states to improve voting systems for all voters, to improve voting place and equipment accessibility for people with disabilities, and requires states to establish an administrative procedure to hear complaints and resolve grievances about voting rights violations. This section provides information about voter rights and assistance for people with disabilities.
