OSLSA introduces the Ohio Poverty Law Center
On July 1, 2009, the state support center at the Ohio State Legal Services Association (OSLSA) became the Ohio Poverty Law Center (OPLC). According to OPLC Director Gene King, the staff of the Center will continue to do much of the work they have always done as the state support center. OPLC, unlike the state support center, is no longer subject to the Legislative Services Commission (LSC) restrictions which will allow OPLC to broaden its advocacy efforts. The Center will provide assistance and consulting to the Ohio legal services community through policy advocacy, litigation support, training, specialty assistance and consulting, task forces, publications and other activities.
