Advocates stage protest at Ohio Statehouse

Advocates joined together and staged a day-long protest at the Ohio Statehouse on Tuesday, June 30. The group displayed protest signs and handed out literature to the public, informing people about advocates concerns with:

The group cited a study by the Scripps Gerontology Center that Ohio ranked 43rd in the country for its balance of home and community base care vs. nursing home care and if the budget bill passes in its current version, this could get worse. People with disabilities and the elderly would no longer have the choice between unnecessary institutionalization and living in the community.

Sue Hetrick and advocates from The Ability Center of Greater Toledo organized the protest.
